Smart Phone for Real-Time Self-Report Assessment
Institute for Complex Engineered Systems - Carnegie Mellon University (2008)
The project mainly focused on finding a better interface to measure a stress level of a person. We have cooperated with the Behavioral Medicine Research Group of University of Pittsburgh and designed an automated Interview-based-stress-measurement (IBSM) method. Previously, the eWatch of Carnegie Mellon University was used to measure the stress level, but due to its bulky size and poor display/input, it was uncomfortable to users. We have implemented the IBSM on a smartphone together with a Bluetooth headset so that users can clearly understand the interview questions and then answer to them quickly without much effort.
